The photography book, which is nowadays the preferred medium of choice for many photographers, is at the heart of Photobooks Switzerland. P.S. is an event co-organised with different venues that specializes in photography in the Swiss territory.
While the artist’s book has already been discussed more broadly, this is the first event of its kind devoted specifically to the photographic book in Switzerland. P.S. aims to bring the best of independent contemporary photographic publishing to Switzerland. It seeks to open up reflection and discussion about the status and importance of the photobook, as well as to convey new inputs and impressions about the possibility of the medium in the Swiss cultural scene.
The goal of the festival is to create a friendly and festive atmosphere in order to encourage exchanges and meetings between all audiences: professionals, photographers, students and schools.
The first edition of Photobooks Switzerland took place in 2019 at the Photoforum Pasquart as well as the 2022 edition. This year the event is taking place during at the Center of Photography in Geneva for international & Swiss publishers.
The participation for the editors and institutions is completely free of charge and Photobooks Switzerland is taking no pourcentage on the sales. To prevent last minute cancellation, we ask for a caution of 100 chf/100 euros that will be reimbursed after the event.
To participate to the international fair at The Center of Photography in Geneva, you can register ︎︎︎here (all editors are welcome, and swiss editors that wish to participate to both events avec very much welcome to apply to both fairs).
